COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the schedule for India’s upcoming tour to Sri Lanka, which will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between India vs Sri Lanka.

New Head Coach for India

This tour will be the first for Gautam Gambhir as India’s new head coach. He took over from Rahul Dravid, who stepped down after leading India to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Current Indian Team Activity

Right now, the Indian team is playing a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. For the series against Sri Lanka, India is expected to bring back their main players.

Tour Schedule of India vs Sri Lanka

According to the schedule, the Indian team will arrive in Sri Lanka on July 22. The T20I series will start on July 26, with the second and third matches on July 27 and 29. All these matches will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

After the T20Is, the ODI series will start in Colombo. The first ODI is on August 1, followed by matches on August 4 and 7. All three ODIs will be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Change in Sri Lankan Leadership

Earlier today, Sri Lanka’s star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga resigned as the T20I captain. SLC said Hasaranga stepped down to focus on his performance as a player and to support the team under new leadership.

Hasaranga, who became T20I captain last year, led the team in 10 matches. In his resignation letter, he said he wants to give his best as a player and support the team.
